|39th College Tour (Virtual)
October 3 - 31, 2020
|Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) are institutions established prior to 1964 whose
principle mission was, and is, the education of Black Americans. HBCU's must be accredited by a nationally
recognized accrediting agency. These institutions continue the mission of serving African-American
students while also serving a diverse student population that includes all races and ethnic backgrounds.
Most importantly, the HBCU continues to provide enhanced opportunities for academic success.
The 2020 College Tour experiences starts on October 3, 2020 with a College Success Workshop and our
first school visits.
|The mission of the College Tour is to expose primarily African-American and Latino high school students to
the variety of higher education options offered by historically Black colleges and universities, and through
campus visitation provide opportunities for students to observe and participate in aspects of college life
and interact with admissions personnel.
|For 38 years, the ETL Education Foundation along with the Eta Theta
annual HBCU College Tour Program. The program consists of a series
of workshops and activities leading up to a week-long tour of 12-14
Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Throughout the years, the
organizations' primary concern has been the conducting of safe and
academically enriching College Tour activities. This year, the health
risks associated with the COVID 19 pandemic have driven the decision
to conduct a Virtual College Tour.
Please note, the 2020 Virtual College Tour will be innovative and
effective. It will include many of the elements of our traditional Tours.
The ETL Education Foundation and Eta Theta Lambda Chapter remain
committed to our College Tour mission to expose primarily
African-American and Latino high school students to the variety of
higher education options offered by historical Black colleges and
universities, and through campus visitation, provide opportunities for
students to observe and participate in aspects of college life and
interact with admissions personnel.
Our delivery strategy may be different. However, our commitment to
our mission and our students is unchanged. We are looking forward to
a great 2020 College Tour. Join us as we continue to move onward and
