Office of the President
Greetings:

Welcome to the ETL Education Foundation website.  Whether a first time visitor or someone
presently involved with our programs, it is my pleasure to welcome you!

Since 1982, the Foundation has been working at the forefront of “Educating Tomorrow’s
Leaders.”  We do this through a series of programs that promote achievement, cultural
awareness, mentoring and community partnerships.  Our goal as an organization is to
address the academic achievement gap by creating viable strategies that assist in narrowing
the divide that limit the educational potential of our youth..   As a volunteer organization of
African American and Latino concerned citizens we embrace the opportunity to be innovators
of change.

In 201
6, the Foundation will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of its flagship program, the Annual
College Tour.  The College Tour is clearly an example of the organization’s contribution to the
community. Over 3,000 student participants, including  College Tour alumni from over 15
states, Africa and the Caribbean have and continue to  benefit from ETL Education
Foundation programming.  Our track record of success in motivating young men and women
to seek higher education is unmatched!

Our communities continue to struggle with academic achievement when compared to other
ethnic groups.  Our students need support as they grow from precocious youth to full-fledged
adults  Visualization is a critical element in nurturing the success of a young man or woman.
Foundation programs allow students to envision their potential and provide positive
reinforcement that academic achievement leads to life accomplishments!

Programs such as the Annual College Tour
, our Virtual University Initiative and youth
mentoring programs,
provide students with “hands-on” experiences and opportunities to
grow confident; learning that the rewards of a quality education are well worth the required
work.   Students have the opportunity to meet and interact with those who have similar goals
and dreams.  Furthermore, they become a part of the ETL Family which brings with it a
lifelong commitment not only to individual success but also to nurturing the success of
others.

We hope that you will find our website helpful and informative.  I invite you to explore the
website and contact us with your questions and ideas.  You may contact us at
collegetour@email.com or via our Hotline at (516) 733-0442.  The work continues!

                                                                                                          Sincerely,
